Oli urges players to dismantle conspiracy against national unity

Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the sports persons to break the efforts being made to vitiate national unity inciting the people in various names.

Addressing the opening session of the third meeting of the Central Committee of the Nepal Sports Federation here today, the Prime Minister insisted on maintaining the national unity as many forces can break the national unity in the name of religion, caste and incite the people.

“In such a small country, we have many castes, languages and ideologies living together. This is our wealth and living heritage,” PM Oli said, adding, “We should not allow the nation and people’s sentiment to be divided in various names and forms.”

The sports sector does not belong to any particular caste or religion. Athletes are represented here on the basis of excellence, PM Oli said.

Laws, procedures and rules are followed here. It should be our job to make disciplined society.” Prime Minister Oli made it clear that in a democracy that is ruled by the people, the tendency to not obey the law and act on whims will not lead the society anywhere. He urged people to come forward on the side of truth as false and rumour were spreading in the society to mislead the society, therefore all should be alert.
