KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, H.E. Mohammad Aamir Khan, presented his Letter of Credence to Rt. Hon. President of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel at a ceremony held at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas, in Kathmandu.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Khan conveyed warm greetings from the leadership and people of Pakistan to President Paudel and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding and cordial relations between Pakistan and Nepal.
The presentation of credentials marks the formal beginning of Ambassador Khan’s tenure in Nepal and represents an important milestone in the continued development of bilateral relations between the two South Asian countries.
Nepal and Pakistan have maintained diplomatic relations since 1960, with cooperation extending across various fields, including trade, education, tourism, culture, agriculture and people-to-people contacts. The two countries have also maintained close engagement through regional and international forums.
Ambassador Khan has extensive experience in diplomatic and international affairs. Prior to his appointment to Nepal, he served in various senior positions at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held diplomatic assignments, including Pakistan’s representation at the United Nations in New York and diplomatic service in Beijing.
During his tenure in Nepal, Ambassador Khan is expected to focus on further expanding bilateral cooperation and strengthening existing ties between the two countries. Areas of mutual interest include economic and trade cooperation, climate change, disaster risk reduction, agriculture, education and cultural exchanges.
The ambassador’s arrival comes at a time when Nepal and Pakistan are seeking to further enhance their longstanding friendship and identify new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The presentation of credentials reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to maintaining close, friendly and cooperative relations and to further advancing the partnership between Nepal and Pakistan.
