Ilam by-polls: twenty candidates register nominations

Kathmandu: A total of 20 candidates from Ilam Constituency No. 2 and 12 candidates from Bajhang Constituency No. 1 (A) have filed their nominations for the upcoming by-election to be held on the 27th of April.

Office of the Chief Election Officer said that a total of 12 candidates from political parties and 8 independent candidates filed their candidacy from Ilam Constituency No. 2.

Chief Election Officer Keshav Prasad Ghimire said that Suhang Nembang from the CPN (UML), Dambar Bahadur Khadka from the Nepali Congress, Jit Bahadur Rai from the CPM (Unified Socialist), Prem Kumar Thamsuhang from the Janamat Party, Shyam Bahadur Darji from the Nepal Peasants’ Party, Mani Bahadur Limbu from the Mangol National Organization registered their candidacy from Ilam 2.

Likewise, Chief Election  Officer Ghimire said Milan Limbu from Rastriya Swatantra Party, independent candidate Dakendra Singh Limbu, another independent candidate Dak Prasad Gautam, Laxmi Gurung from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), RPP’s Ganesh Bahadur Chauhan, Jayawanta Bikram Shah from the Ratriya Miukti Andolan Dal, Resham Bahadur Sunar from Nepali Janata Dal, Dhanaraj Rana Magar from the National Republican Party, and 8 independent candidates registered their nominations.

Meanwhile, 12 candidates registered their nominations in Bajhang Constituency No. 1 (A).
