Russian Embassy Celebrates Russia Day in Kathmandu

Kathmandu : The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nepal organized a special event in Kathmandu to celebrate Russia Day. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, H.E. Mr. Aleksei Vladimirovich Surovtsev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Nepal, highlighted the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Nepal and Russia. He spoke about Russia’s contributions to Nepal in various sectors, including education, infrastructure development, culture, science, and economic cooperation.

Ambassador Surovtsev emphasized the importance of the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries and expressed confidence that Nepal–Russia cooperation would continue to expand and deepen in the years ahead for the mutual benefit of both nations.

The event was attended by government officials, diplomats, political leaders, business representatives, members of the diplomatic community, and distinguished guests from various sectors.

Adding cultural charm to the celebration, Russian artists delivered musical performances that were warmly appreciated by the audience. The performances showcased Russian culture and added vibrancy to the occasion.

The Embassy stated that the event was organized to commemorate Russia Day and further strengthen the historical friendship, mutual understanding, and cultural ties between Nepal and Russia.
