Israel Shares Expertise in Trauma and Emergency Response with Nepal

The Embassy of Israel in Nepal facilitated the visit of Prof. Dr. Avraham Rivkind, laureate of the Israel Prize and renowned trauma and emergency medicine expert, from 16-18 February 2026 in Nepal. The visit underscored the Government of Nepal’s shared interest in advancing professional collaboration in the medical field and promoting knowledge exchange in emergency and trauma care.
During his intensive three-day program, Prof. Rivkind engaged with leading hospitals and healthcare professionals, sharing Israel’s experience and best practices in trauma care, mass-casualty management, and disaster response. Ms. Janan Bebar, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Israel, accompanied Prof. Rivikind during the meetings and professional interactions throughout the visit.
Drawing on Israel’s globally recognized experience in managing mass-casualty incidents and complex emergencies, Prof. Rivkind delivered professional lectures and held high-level interactions at Bir Hospital and National Trauma Center. He also met with senior executives and physicians from various other medical institutions. Similarly, he delivered lecture to medical professionals and students of Dhulikhel Hospital Kathmandu University Hospital, sharing practical insights on trauma systems and emergency preparedness. In addition, he conducted a virtual session connecting medical professionals nationwide, further expanding the impact of the visit. He also toured Patan hospital.
As part of his official engagements, Prof. Rivkind visited National Disaster Risk Reduction
Management Authority, where he met with the Chief Executive and senior officials and discussed strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanism. He also met with consular representatives from different embassies in Nepal to discuss best practices on managing consular affairs during emergency situations.
