Kathmandu. The Pakistan Embassy in Nepal has awarded prizes to the winners of the 13th Annual Pakistan Ambassador Essay Writing Competition and the 9th Annual Pakistan Ambassador Speech Competition-2026.
This year, on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Pakistan’s founder Quaid (e) Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, an essay competition was held on the topic “The Role of Quaid (e) Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Mainstreaming Pakistan’s Demands through Constitutional Means”.
Prateek Pokharel of Vishwa Niketan Secondary School, Kathmandu, came first, Dakshesh Ghimire of Chandbagh School came second, and Nitin Thapa of Pranjali World School came third in the competition. The winning students were awarded certificates and cash prizes. In addition, 12 other outstanding students were also awarded special cash prizes and certificates, the embassy said.
Similarly, in the oratory competition, students of higher secondary and university levels presented their views on the topic “Will Artificial Intelligence (AI) Replace Libraries?”.
In the competition, Bishwa Kala Nepal of Reliance College came first, Tshiring Tamang of National Law College came second, and Bpium Chaulagain of St. Xavier’s College, Maitidevi came third. They were also awarded certificates and cash prizes. The Embassy stated that 12 other participating students were also awarded certificates and cash prizes.
The competition, which was conducted in phases over a period of two weeks, saw significant participation from more than 50 students from higher secondary schools and universities across the country.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi appreciated the critical thinking presented by the students on important issues. He said that the study conducted by the students on the constitutional efforts and the contribution of Quaid-e-Azam in the establishment of Pakistan would help in enhancing understanding among the youth and further strengthening Nepal-Pakistan relations.
According to the Embassy, these competitions have been organized regularly for 13 and 9 years respectively and have established themselves as popular events among the youth of Nepal.
