What happened at the Makkah Summit for Joint Security?

Kathmandu. The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Security between Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan has issued a joint statement with the announcement. The countries have issued a joint statement after holding a summit in Makkah for their security.
The statement said, At the humble invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on August 7, 2026.

His Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister welcomed President Erdogan and Prime Minister Sharif at the Al-Safa Palace in Makkah. Where the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defense was held, during which the special relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were reviewed, as well as many issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Guided by the long-standing historical relations between the three States, based on the enduring bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity that unite them, and based on their common strategic interests and the building of long-standing defense cooperation, His Highness the Crown Prince, the President of Turkey and the Prime Minister of Pakistan signed the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement. The joint signature reflects the common commitment of the three States to further strengthen their collective defense and promote peace, security and stability in the region and beyond, while seeking a secure and prosperous future.

The objective of the agreement is to strengthen collective resistance against any act of aggression. It is stipulated that any armed attack against any of the three States shall be considered an attack against them all. It further provides for the enhancement of all aspects of defense cooperation between the three States.
