Kathmandu: The number of tourists reported missing in the devastating floods in Nepal has reached 644, according to the Nepal Tourism Board. Information released by the Tourism Board on Thursday stated that citizens from several countries, including Nepal, are among those reported missing.
According to the Board, Indian nationals account for the highest number of missing tourists, with 178 reported missing. They are followed by 127 Nepali nationals, 65 Americans, 53 Ukrainians, 51 Malaysians, and 35 Australians.
The Board said citizens from several other countries are also among those reported missing. Authorities are continuing efforts to collect information, locate missing individuals, and coordinate with concerned agencies and diplomatic missions.
The growing number of missing tourists has raised serious concerns about the impact of the devastating floods on visitors as well as local communities across the affected areas.
