Kathmandu. The use of technology is expanding globally, and Nepal has also begun integrating technology into various aspects of daily operations. However, this increased reliance on technology brings with it new challenges. Amidst rising concerns regarding cyber insecurity, the National Cyber Security Summit was held in Kathmandu.
The summit was inaugurated by Dr. Prof. Sudan Jha, a member of the National Planning Commission. During the inauguration, Dr. Jha stated that the Government of Nepal is currently preparing the necessary infrastructure to ensure security alongside the expansion of technological access.
Kumar Pudasaini, Chairperson of the Global Cyber Security Community Forum, highlighted the necessity of the summit, noting that cyber security has become a highly challenging issue.
Naomi Yoshizawa, a cyber security expert and Director at W-Cap (Japan), also spoke at the event, observing that security challenges are escalating in tandem with the growing use of technology.
Subject matter experts with extensive experience in the field of cyber security shared their insights during the program.
The summit saw the participation of cyber security experts from various countries, including Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Nepal. Cultural performances were also presented during the event.
