Video Claiming Grand Welcome for Balen is Misleading

kathmandu: Social media reports claiming that Balendra Shah—who traveled to the US to attend the UN General Assembly—received a grand welcome there have been found to be misleading. On Wednesday, posts circulated on social media alleging such a welcome, using old videos and photographs. These videos were republished by various sources without even crediting the original uploader. However, a photojournalist accompanying Balen revealed that he only arrived in the US late Wednesday (Nepal time) and that no such grand welcome took place.
