Kathmandu, Russian President Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to supporting African nations in protecting their sovereignty and achieving sustainable economic growth during the plenary session of the Russia–Africa summit.
Putin said the Russian ruble now accounts for up to 85% of commercial transactions between Russia and African countries. He also emphasized that Russian businesses invest in Africa responsibly, respecting local communities and supporting employees and their families.
Describing Russia and Africa as natural allies in building a multipolar world order free from external pressure, Putin said their positions on major global political issues are closely aligned. He further expressed confidence that Africa could eventually become a major global food exporter, rather than simply meeting its own food needs.
