Russia has stated that its intelligence services are closely monitoring developments related to the launch of Ukrainian drones, amid rising tensions in the ongoing conflict. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov alleged that Kyiv may be using European Union and NATO countries “blindly” to serve what he described as its criminal objectives.
Peskov further accused Ukraine of attempting to pressure European countries by using energy infrastructure, including pipelines, as leverage. He also expressed concern over what he called a lack of response from Brussels following alleged attacks affecting EU states, describing the silence as “perplexing.”
Commenting on Ukrainian leadership, Peskov said remarks by Volodymyr Zelenskyy about preparing for several more years of conflict contradict earlier statements expressing a desire for peace.
Despite ongoing hostilities, Russia maintains that it has not lost interest in negotiations. According to Peskov, Moscow expects a new round of talks on Ukraine to take place when conditions allow, although key issues remain unresolved.
Russia also reaffirmed that it continues strategic military operations aimed at reducing Ukraine’s capacity for what it termed “terrorist activity.”
On international matters, Peskov claimed that media coverage of the Middle East conflict contains significant misinformation, urging caution in interpreting such reports.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin is scheduled to address the Congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and will hold a closed-door meeting with business leaders. He is also expected to launch a new exhibition space showcasing Russia’s national achievements.
