Kathmandu. A campaign to find peace in the world through music has started. Children under the age of 16 performed music and dance at the one-day music program for peace organized by Journalists for Justice in collaboration with Russian House Kathmandu.
Child artists who performed music to stop the increasing war in the world and pray for peace, Adhyaya Bhandari on the tavla, Pratik Dangol on the flute, Anush Gandharva on the sarangi, and Adhya Regmi in Kathak dance, performed their performances.
Through the program, the message was conveyed to the world community from Nepal, the country of Gautam Buddha, the pioneer of peace, to find the path to peace through dialogue and negotiation, not war, said the organization’s president Tikaram Khadka. According to President Khadka, the main objective of this program is not just entertainment, but to raise the voice of peace through cultural means. Delivering a message from Anastasia Khokhlova, Counselor of the Russian Embassy and Director of the Russian House, Russian House Program Manager Santosh Karki described music as a powerful medium for cultural dialogue. He also mentioned that this program is a symbol of shared values, cultural diversity, unity and peace in the context of the 70th anniversary of Russia-Nepal diplomatic relations.
