Putin Holds Meeting for Russia–U.S. Summit

Kathmandu — Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin convened a meeting on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming Russia–U.S. summit.
During the meeting, President Putin briefed attendees on the Ukraine crisis and the progress of bilateral talks with the Ukrainian delegation.

He also provided updates on Russia’s engagement with the U.S. administration, stating that he is sincerely working to halt hostilities, resolve the crisis, and reach agreements that serve the interests of all parties involved in the conflict.

Putin informed the meeting that Russia’s objective is to work toward lasting peace not only between Ukraine and Russia but also in Europe and globally. He added that Russia has already moved forward with facilitating measures for controlling aggressive weapons.

Given the recent escalation—whether in the Russia–Ukraine conflict or the Palestine–Israel conflict—the Russia–U.S. summit is expected to send a positive signal. Putin’s preparations are seen as steps toward maintaining global peace and positioning him as a champion of peace.
